10 Tips for a Great Visit

1 Beat the Lines and Buy Online

Online, timed-entry ticketing , how do we love thee? Let us count the ways:

One. Guaranteed admission (some days and times may sell out but you’re safe with online tickets).

Two. Avoid the long lineups.

OK, so we’ve only counted two, but you have to admit, they’re pretty good! To get tickets for your preferred time, buy online and bypass the ticket line when you arrive.

Print your tickets at home or flash them on your phone as you enter the Gallery. Tickets can also be picked up in person, should you run into problems printing at home. Frida & Diego is a timed-entry exhibition, which means you pick a time that suits you best and then enter the exhibition at any time during your designated hour. You can stay in the exhibition as long as you like. In fact, we encourage you to take your time!

2 See the Exhibition at a Time that Works for You!

We are open:
Tuesday & Thursday–Sunday: 10 am – 5:30 pm
Wednesday: 10 am – 8:30 pm
1st Thursdays (Nov 1, Dec 6, Jan 3): also open 6:30 – 9:30 pm
Open Monday December 24 & 31. Closed all other Mondays.

Want to avoid the crowds? School groups tend to visit on weekdays between 10 am and 2 pm, and weekends are our busiest time. Visit weekday afternoons to enjoy a less hectic experience.

3 Spend the Night with Us

The AGO is open late on Wednesday and on the first Thursday of every month.
We’re bringing it all together — art, artists, live music, food, drinks and you — for one spectacular Thursday each month!
First Thursdays, 6:30 – 11 pm: Nov 1, Dec 6 & Jan 3.

5 Getting Here

The AGO is located on Dundas Street West, just two blocks west of University Avenue. Visit ago.net/location for a list of nearby parking locations. Better yet, take public transit or bike. Avoid parking altogether. The AGO is on the TTC’s Dundas Street streetcar route. It’s also a short walk from the St. Patrick subway station. You can also take GO Transit to Union Station, then catch the subway north to St. Patrick station. Check ttc.ca or gotransit.com for specific routes from your location. We also have bike racks and a BIXI station just south of Dundas on Beverley Street.
