Art in a Changing World (Grades 3 – 8)

Works of art reflect how artists interpret what is happening in society during the time in which they were made.  Students will analyze works of art as primary sources and focus their exploration on this essential question:

How do artists and their works of art reflect what was happening in society during their time?

Dedicated to providing a student-centred learning experience, we use questioning strategies based on the critical analysis process, and activate learning through interactive activities such as looking games, sketching, movement and drama, and tactile experiences.  During a guided visit, students will move between large and small group discussions and activities led by experienced staff and dedicated volunteers.

Education staff determine which galleries to visit based on the theme of the program and what works of art are on view the day of your visit.  If there is one (1) specific work of art, collection type, or special exhibition you would like to see during a portion of your guided visit, please specify at the time of booking.

Students can make art in response to this guided visit by booking an Elementary Artmaking Visit for a full day of fun at the AGO!

Nous offrons des programmes en français - faites une demande lors de l'inscription.
