Based on an 8 day hitchhiking trip filmmakers Shayne Ehman and Seth Scriver took in 2000, Asphalt Watches (2013) is a sprawling, animated feature that follows the journey of  Bucktooth Cloud and Skeleton Hat from Chilliwack, British Columbia eastward to Toronto.

This is the last of three movie classics that explore how filmmakers have envisioned the Canadian landscape in new and unusual ways:

  • Don Shebib’s Goin’ Down the Road
  • Bruce McDonald’s Highway 61
  • Shayne Ehman's and Seth Scriver’s Asphalt Watches
