This exhibition of watercolours was chosen from the Rabel works in the AGO collection. Daniel Rabel, born in Paris in 1578 worked as the costume designer for the court ballets and theatrical performances held at the court of King Louis XIII of France from 1614 until his death in 1635. These lively, colourful watercolours are working drawings that dressmakers, hat and boot makers, jewellers, embroiderers and other artisans would use to produce the entire costume.
