Creative Connections: Art, Writing and Literature (Saturday Workshop)

Saturday, January 14, 2012 10 am to 3 pm

Discover cross-curricular connections between art and language at the AGO!  Integrate the visual arts with the Language and English curriculums to bring both words and images alive.

  • Build your students’ visual literacy through student-centred discussions using the critical analysis process and interpretation activities.
  • Learn interactive activities you can use in the gallery and in your classroom to encourage creative writing such as poetry and narrative development.
  • Explore the connections between art, writing and literature and learn how your students can respond creatively to literature.
  • Discover works of art and artists that you can use to demonstrate how a diversity of cultures communicates stories through art.

$40 + HST for in-service teachers
$35 + HST for pre-service teachers
Registration is limited to 30 participants per workshop. Additional workshops can be scheduled if needed.
A minimum number of participants is required for programs to proceed.
