6:30 – 8:30 pm
Walker Court, Art Gallery of Ontario
Mammalian Diving Reflex kicks off their residency at the Art Gallery of Ontario with their classic Dare Night - a variation on "truth-or-dare", minus the truth and double the dares. Come take part in a series of unsavoury events where the squeamish squirm their way out of their shells and commit the unthinkable. The Torontonians, conjure and curate a list of dares randomly selected by participants who challenge public etiquette. They invite all tall, short, chubby, lean, young, old, social, anti-social people and everyone else in between to break the ice at the Art Gallery of Ontario.
Mammalian is in the house, baby. They dare YOU to come out.
Mammalian Diving Reflex is a research-art atelier dedicated to investigating the social sphere through art. They create site and social-specific works, providing opportunities for dialogue across ages, cultures, and socio-economic backgrounds. Headed by artistic director Darren O'Donnell, Toronto-based Mammalian Diving Reflex will be the AGO's Artist-in-Residence this winter. Mammalian's residency will engage with the neighbourhood surrounding the AGO, focusing on the relationship between local youth and the gallery.
