Taking the Art Gallery of Ontario’s Marvin Gelber Prints and Drawing Centre as its inspiration, this drawing course gives participants the unique opportunity to view works that are rarely displayed. Students will warm up in the collections with a few exercises then convene in the Prints and Drawing Centre to make drawings after works in the extensive collection. Various drawing, watercolour, and printmaking techniques will be observed and studied. This course is suitable for intermediate students or those who have some drawing ability.
Students are asked to bring the following supplies: A 11X14" coil-bound sketchbook, a set of soft pencils (B through 9B, or one each of 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B), a knead-able eraser and a white vinyl eraser, a set of 24 watercolour pencils, a self-contained pencil sharpener.
