Figurative Sculpture (Winter)

Wednesdays January 16 – March 6, 7 – 10 pm (8 weeks)
Instructor: Christy Langer
Members $375 | Public $440 (Most materials are covered in the price of this course.)

In this course, students will work with low fire wet clay and focus on sculpting the human form; they will develop skills of observation and proportion, while working with a live model closely guided by instruction. Supplementing skill development, they will receive exposure to current applications of life modeling, sculpture techniques, and basic mold making in a contemporary art context. Students will be given demonstrations and encouraged to utilize a variety of techniques when working with a live model. They will have the opportunity to develop traditional life sculpture skills within the classroom environment, while simultaneously interacting with, observing, and discussing how these techniques are practiced and applied in a contemporary art.

Please note: there are no classes on Monday February 18 and Monday March 11.
