Please join us for a special introductory talk before visiting our exhibitions.
We invite you to mark the opening of Mystical Landscapes: Masterpieces from Monet, Van Gogh and more with a special evening for teachers at the Art Gallery of Ontario.
Organized in partnership with the renowned Musée d'Orsay in Paris, this once-in-a-lifetime exhibition explores the mystical experiences of artists including Emily Carr, Paul Gauguin, Vincent van Gogh, Piet Mondrian, Claude Monet, Edvard Munch, Georgia O'Keeffe and James McNeill Whistler. Taking visitors on a journey through Europe, Scandinavia and North America, the exhibition will feature close to 90 extraordinary paintings and 20 works on paper, many of which seldom leave their home museum. We will be joined by AGO Interpretive Planner David Wistow, who will offer a first-hand glimpse of his experience working with our curators to develop the exhibition.
Our program will also feature an introduction to the groundbreaking exhibition Small Wonders: Gothic Boxwood Miniatures by AGO Interpretive Planner Gillian McIntyre. Small Wonders examines the cutting-edge technology used by curators and conservators in their search to understand these tiny masterpieces, which were used as devotional objects in the 1500s.
Enjoy light refreshments and FREE Gallery admission - which includes the specially ticketed exhibition Mystical Landscapes.
Capacity is extremely limited, so please be sure to register to secure your free ticket. We look forward to having you join us at the Art Gallery of Ontario!
Education Programs at the AGO are generously supported by smART women with additional support from the Arthur Lismer Group, The Learning Circle, and the Learning Fund.
