Gallery Visits for Schools 2011-2012

Guided Gallery Visits are 90-minute thematic and cross-curricular programs led by dynamic and experienced staff and supported by trained and dedicated volunteers. Students explore art from Canada and around the world, using student-centred questioning strategies and fun, interactive activities, such as looking games, critical thinking exercises, sketching, movement and drama, and tactile experiences. My First Visit

Early learners explore art through creative play in the Gallery (JK to Grade 2)

Picasso: Masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso, Paris

Students will explore the art, artists, and artistic styles that influenced Picasso to produce innovative paintings, sculptures, prints, and drawings.

Who Am I? Who Are We? Exploring Identity

Students explore how artists communicate personal and collective identities through art (Grades 3 to 8)

Messaging and Meaning: Literacy and Literature

Build your students’ visual literacy and exercise their creative writing skills (Grades 3 to 8)

Canadian Eh?! Regional, Multicultural and Global Influences (Visual Arts Focus)

Students examine how Canadian artists explore personal, regional and cultural expressions of identity and artistic traditions (Grades 9 to 12)

Canadian Eh?! Regional, Multicultural and Global Influences (Geography Focus)

Students explore how Canadian artists have represented regional diversity and global connections in their works (Grades 9 to 12)
