"The Golden King" is one of the epithets commonly associated with Tutankhamun as it evokes eloquently the famous golden mask and rich tomb treasure of this short-lived pharaoh. Each item in this glorious collection served to underpin a kingship ideology that portrayed the pharaohas son and representative of the sun-god by employing both traditional and innovative motifs.
