Guided Visits - AGO Collection - $14 per student

AGO Highlights – 75 minutes
Engage with key AGO Collection works from different time periods and genres, including works by Indigenous artists, and works from our African, European, Contemporary, and Canadian Collections. This tour will focus on how artists express themselves through their own unique visual language.

Math and Art – 75 minutes
Discover the AGO Collection by focusing on math concepts such as measurement, geometry, spatial sense, patterning, algebra, data management and probability.

Explore connections between artists and artistic practice from different places and cultures. Discussion and activities will focus on how artists express themselves in ways that are both different, and similar, across cultures.

A picture is worth a thousand words! In this tour, students explore various works of art by developing their communication, vocabulary, creative writing and critical thinking skills. This program is appropriate for both core language arts, and for English language learners.

Exploring French Culture and Heritage Through Art – 75 minutes
Explore the history of French-speaking communities through the visual record created by Québécois, Métis and European artists and their contributions to la francophonie and the world. All School Programs at the AGO are offered in both French and English.

Canada Through Art – 75 minutes
How are artists and their works of art influenced by Canada’s land and people? Discover how artists have interpreted Canada’s various regions and diversity of citizens from the past to the present.

Artmaking Visits – AGO Collection – $14 per student

Miniature Pop-Up Sculpture Gallery – 75 minutes
Students will discover three different small scale sculpture processes, and create their own miniature pop-up sculpture gallery.

Watercolour Painting – 75 minutes
Students will experiment with an array of different watercolour techniques and use these samples to create a realistic or abstract collage.

Soft Linoleum Printmaking – 75 minutes
Students will carve their own designs into soft linoleum blocks using hand-carving tools and washable printing inks to create individual and collaborative prints.

Mixed Media and Collage – 75 minutes
Inspired by artists in the AGO Collection, students will create a multilayered collage on acetate that communicates a story through the foreground, middle ground and background.

Artmaking and Mini-Tour – AGO Collection – $22 per student

Canadian Focus Mini-Tour and Artmaking – 105 minutes
This program begins by exploring at least 2 original works of art in the Canadian galleries using interactive activities, followed by either a soft linoleum printmaking workshop or a collage workshop in our studio.

Do it all! Make the most of your visit with any 75-minute guided tour, followed by a 75-minute artmaking workshop of your choice.
