Join our Artist-in-Residence for Summer 2014, Ame Henderson, as she retraces the history of live performance at the AGO. Rehearsal is often understood as an exploratory and improvisational process. It is an embodied experience focused on preparing for a future event. rehearsal/performance eliminates the spatial and temporal shift between rehearsal and performance, as the gallery itself becomes a workspace. This series of durational choreographic encounters will evolve over time and culminate in a twelve hour Scotiabank Nuit Blanche 2014 performance.
Ame Henderson is the Artistic Director of Public Recordings, an atelier committed to experimental choreography. Public Recordings’ interest in a collaborative practice has resulted in a range of projects including publications, performances, and exhibitions.
