Shaping Young Curators: Authentic Learning and the Classroom Gallery

Saturday, February 22, 2014
10 am – 3 pm

For: Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Teachers in Visual Arts, Media Arts, History, and Social Science

Educator: Bob Phillips

Focus on the exhibition planning, display, and interpretation of students’ artwork with students acting as collaborative and guiding participants. Draw parallels and examples from AGO experts and their interpretive strategies to assist you in developing your own student exhibitions. The use of display as an assessment for learning strategy and authentic evaluation practice as well as approaches to literacy will also be considered. Experience the AGO from behind-the-scenes, and investigate questions about art galleries and their functions.
