Creativity Challenge (Studio Visit)

Creativity Challenge (Grades 3 to 12)

Ready, set, create!  Using everyday materials and techniques, students push their imaginations to the limit to create unique individual and collaborative works of art. Students get their creative juices flowing by participating in a series of artistic “challenges” using reusable materials that encourage experimentation and lateral thinking. The final artistic challenge will then stretch students’ imaginations and perceptions of art through the collective creation of sculptures using non-traditional materials and techniques that highlight a social or environmental issue of their choosing.

Studio Visits take place in the Dr. Anne Tanenbaum Gallery School where students unleash their creativity and create art in a 6,000 square feet open studio space. Students will be inspired by sculptures from the AGO’s permanent collection displayed within a visible behind-the-scenes vault storage area located in the studio. Working with experienced artist educators, students will experiment with traditional and non-traditional materials and techniques to create individual and collaborative works of art focused on the creative process.

Note: In an open studio environment, creativity can be a messy process!  Please ask students to wear comfortable clothing that is easily washable. Aprons are not provided.
