Deepen your understanding of curriculum and instruction to further develop your art education teaching practices through our after school Teacher Workshops! Led by our experienced professional educators and some special guests, engage in learning, shared inquiry, and collaboration with your peers. Workshops include practical lesson and activity ideas, teaching resources, guided tours, hands-on artmaking, which you can personalize to meet your specific needs and context.
Michelangelo: Quest for Genius

For: Junior, Intermediate and Senior Teachers in Visual Arts.
Educator: Bob Phillips
What struggles and frustrations did Michelangelo face in his creative process and how is this similar or different to those struggles of artists in the AGO collection? Explore inquiry-based approaches for engaging students with Michelangelo’s sketches, presentation drawings/project drawings/planning drawings and “thoughts on paper” that include language, writing and artistic responses. This workshop includes resource materials to take back to your school and admission to the special exhibition, Michelangelo: Quest for Genius.

Registration is limited to 40 participants per workshop. A minimum number of participants are required for programs to run. Additional workshops can be scheduled if needed.
