The Art of Drawing with Kelley Aitken

This course takes place in the Art Gallery of Ontario collections, and covers the basic skills and concepts of drawing. Weekly, students will draw the objects, spaces, figures and images of the AGO, building their ability to draw and gaining an understanding of the formal aspects of image and volume, and the decisions that artists make. This course is suitable for beginners and intermediate students.

Students are asked to print out a copy of their receipt and gather in Walker Court for start of class. Students are asked to bring the following supplies: A 11X14" coil-bound sketchbook, a set of soft pencils (B through 9B, or one each of 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B), a knead-able eraser and a white vinyl eraser, a set of 24 watercolour pencils, a self-contained pencil sharpener.
