Volunteering at the Art Gallery of Ontario

Volunteer Opportunities

Meet new and interesting friends, and be a vital part of one of the best art museums in Canada! We’ve got inspiring art, an impressive building, and dedicated volunteers. Applicants, (like our current volunteers), should posses a love and appreciation of art, a flexible attitude for dealing effectively with the public, basic computer skills (including email), and an understanding that reliability is key to success in any volunteer placement.

Volunteers at the AGO number nearly 800 strong! Their time, enthusiasm and expertise contribute to an outstanding experience for museum visitors, in all areas of the Gallery.

HOW TO APPLY:

Please tailor your application to one of the posted placements.

When you apply to more than one placement, we have difficulty determining your preference, making it more challenging to place you. If none of the listed placements interest you, please do not apply with a general application (we regret we cannot keep these on file). We post volunteer vacancies as soon as they become available. Check back often for a placement that better suits your skills and interests. Please note, we do update this site regularly.

If you have any further questions, you can contact us by email at volunteer_recruiters@ago.net.
