Explore the various roles of women in the art world through the AGO's collection, from Renaissance model and painter to modern muse to contemporary artist.  We will look at key female artists such as Betty Goodwin, Francoise Sullivan and Joyce Wieland as well as contemporary artist Wangechi Mutu. Issues examined will range from gender and domestic roles to questions of nationalism, cultural identity, globalism and international warfare.

Tara Marshall is an art historian, writer, art consultant, curator and educator with a passion for helping others learn about art, its history and its role in contemporary society.
